General instructions for cookies - cupcake
The images are printed on an edible icing sheet. The sheet comes with a backing sheet, which you will remove before placing it on the cake or cupcake or any other application you wish.
The icing sheet should remain sealed in the package until you use it. It should not be refrigerated or frozen! Just keep it at room temperature in a shady place. The shelf life of the sheet is about 6 months.
When you open the package and the icing sheet is frozen (eg low temperature in winter) then leave it for a while at room temperature to soften before use. Cold icing sheets are more brittle than they are at room temperature and there is a risk of spoiling them.
Make sure your hands are clean and dry before handling the sheet.
Carefully cut with scissors the images you want to place on the cupcakes or cookies and carefully separate the support sheets from the icing sheet by pulling them gently.
After separating the icing sheets from the support nylon, you can place them on the cupcakes or cookies, "sticking" them with melted chocolate, either white or dark. Alternatively, you can "glue" them with pastry glue.
Instructions about sticking icing
Since the summer, the food additive E171 has been banned. This additive helped products that had a white color (white pigment used in food as an additive) look whiter, such as icing sheet. Due to this modification, the icing sheet remain white, but less intensely white than before. In some cases when you stick the icing sheet with dark chocolate on cookies, cupcakes, cakes and in general on a dark surface it would be better to avoid it because it can reduce the brightness of your image. Alternatively, you can stick the icing sheet with white chocolate on cookies - cupcakes, while on a cake you can put a thin layer of buttercream or white chocolate underneath, if the icing sheet is going to be placed on a very dark surface .
