General instructions for applying icing sheet on cake
The images are printed on an edible icing sheet. The sheet comes with a backing sheet, which you will remove before placing it on the cake or cupcake or any other application you wish.
The icing sheet should remain sealed in the package until you use it. It should not be refrigerated or frozen! Just keep it at room temperature in a shady place. The shelf life of the sheet is about 6 months.
When you open the package and the icing sheet is frozen (eg low temperature in winter) then leave it for a while at room temperature to soften before use. Cold icing sheets are more brittle than they are at room temperature and there is a risk of spoiling them.
Make sure your hands are clean and dry before handling the sheet.
Once you have made your cake, you should place it in the fridge for a few hours until it stabilizes. Then you can place the icing sheet. The icing sheets cannot be moved after they are applied to the cake, for this reason carefully plan the place where you will place it.
Carefully separate the backing sheet from the icing sheet by pulling it gently.
After separating the icing sheet from the nylon backing, you can make it on the cake by holding the edges and applying gently from the middle first, towards the edges. You can put the cake back in the fridge until it is served.
After about 30 minutes the icing sheet that has "stuck" in your cake and you will be able to serve it.
Tips
To separate the icing sheet from the nylon more easily, you can place the sheet in the freezer for 5-10 minutes facing the photo upwards - being careful not to let the image come into contact with other objects.
After you have placed the icing sheet on the cake, it would be good not to leave the cake in the fridge for too many hours, due to the humidity of the fridge .
To extend the strength of the icing sheet , we can put buttercream or melted chocolate underneath to reduce the chance of moisture in the photo!
When you have applied the icing sheet to the cake and you want to place it in the fridge, then it is better not to put it in a box (when it is in a box it accumulates more moisture and the colors of the image may be affected).
